Welcome to the Department of Educational Foundations. The basic aim of the Department of Educational Foundations is initial teacher preparation for those who wish to be teachers and upgrading qualified teachers to degree level as well as equipping those working in higher education with grounding in educational theory and teaching skills necessary for effective delivery of lessons/lectures. It also aims at producing an independent, innovative and reflective educator who will contribute responsibly towards the effective teaching of learners in various communities; one who will be actively involved in the teaching and learning process using interactive methods. To achieve these aims the Department has a team of dedicated members who are both professionals and academics, with rich teaching experiences of varying lengths. L.S.U, through the Department of Educational foundations, is contributing immensely to the provision of highly qualified educators most needed by the education system.
